Magnesium is the 4th most abundant mineral found in the bodythat helps to assist with essential bodily function and formation. Not only is Magnesium important for us, its important for the kids as well.
Magnesium & ADHD
Research has shown that there is a link between Magnesium Deficiency and ADHD in children1. In a study conducted with 116 ADHD recognised children, 95% were found to be Magnesium deficient1. On the flip side, another study conducted with 50 ADHD recognised children were split into two groups; the first receiving Magnesium supplementation and the second receiving usual care from their doctor2. After 6 months of supplementation, there was a significant increase in Magnesium levels and a significant reduction in hyperactivity in the first group when compared to their initial baseline values and the second group2.
